A step-by-step guide to Removing a Patient Group.
On the Dashboards under Group Management, click Patient Groups.
Unlocked Patient Group
On the left side of the Patient Groups page, locate the Patient Group that is to be removed. Use the search bar to locate the Patient Group, if needed.
Check the lock icon. If the lock is open (unlocked) any user can remove the Patient Group.
To the right of the Patient Group's name, click the trashcan icon.
A confirmation window will open. Ensure that the window says "Remove Patient Group" at the top. Also, ensure that the name in the confirmation window is the Patient Group that should be removed. If the information is correct, click Ok. If not, click Cancel to return to the Patient Groups page.
Locked Patient Group
On the left side of the Patient Groups page, locate the Patient Group that is to be deleted. Use the search bar to locate the Patient Group, if needed.
Check the lock icon. If the lock is closed (locked) only users with Org Manager-level permissions can remove the Patient Group.
To the right of the Patient Group's name, click the trashcan icon.
A confirmation window will open. Ensure that the window says "Remove Patient Group" at the top. Also, ensure that the name in the confirmation window is the Patient Group that should be removed. If the information is correct, click Ok. If not, click Cancel to return to the Patient Groups page.
For users who do not have Org Manager-level permissions, if the Patient Group is locked, the trashcan icon will not appear to the right of the Patient Group name.
Patient Group is a current Pathway Actor
If a Patient Group is set as a Pathway Actor in an active Care Pathway, it cannot be removed.
If the Patient Group is set as a Pathway Actor, the trashcan icon will have a slash through it to show that it cannot be removed at this time.
Click the trashcan icon to view a list of all Care Pathways that currently have the Patient Group as a Pathway Actor and a list of patients in those Care Pathways.
The Care Pathway(s) for each patient in the list must be updated to replace and / or remove the Patient Group as a Pathway Actor.

Once the Patient Group is no longer connected to any active Care Pathway, the trashcan icon will show without the slash. The Patient Group can then be removed as shown above.
